Roughsetisanewapproachtouncertaintiesinspatialanalysis.Inthispaper,roughsetsymbolsaresimplifiedandstandardizedintermsofroughinterpretationandspecializedindication.Roughspatialentitiesandtheirtopologicalrelationshipsarealsoproposedinroughspace,thusauniversalintersectedequationisdeveloped,androughmembershipfunctionisfurtherextendedwiththegrayscaleinourcasestudy.Wecompletethreeworks.First,asetofsimplifiedroughsymbolsisadvancedonthebasisofexistingroughsymbols.Second,roughspatialentityisputforwardtostudytherealworldasitis,withoutforcinguncertaintiesintocrispset.Third,roughspatialtopologicalrelationshipsarestudiedbyusingroughmatrixandtheirfigures.Therelationshipsarepidedintothreetypes,crispentityandcrispentity(CC),roughentityandcrispentity(RC),androughentityandroughentity(RR).Auniversalintersectedequationisfurtherproposed.Finally,themaximumandminimummapsofriverthematicclassificationaregeneratedviaroughmembershipfunctionandroughrelationshipsinourcasestudy.
