MagnesiumalloyEZ10(Mg-RE-Zn)wasdeformedintensionattemperaturesfrom20upto520°C.Arapiddecreaseoftheyieldandtensilestrengthwithtemperaturewasobservedattemperatureshigherthan300°C.Ontheotherhand,ductilityofsamplesrapidlyincreasedinthesametemperaturerange.Lightmicroscopyandscanningelectronmicroscopywasusedtorevealthereasonforthesebehaviours.Intermetallicparticlesingrainboundariesareresponsibleforexcellentmechanicalpropertiesatlowertemperatures.Diffusionalprocessesoccurringattemperatureshigherthan300°Csignificantlyinfluencedthedeformationmechanismaswellasthefracturecharacter.
