简介:Wireraceballbearingshavebeenwidelyusedinhigh-techweapons.Thepreloadofawireraceballbearingiscrucialinengineeringapplications.Inthisstudy,amoreeffectiveapproachisproposedforexactdeterminationofthewireraceballbearingpreload.Anewmathematicalmodelofthepreloadandthestartingtorqueofthewireraceballbearingwasbuiltusingthetheoremofthe3Drollingfrictionresistanceandthenon-conformingcontacttheory.Employingawireraceballbearingwitha1000mmdiameterusedinaspecifictypeofaircraftsimulatingrotarytable,thenumericalanalysisinMATLAB~showedthatthepreloadmagnitudecanbecontrolledintherangeof130–140μm.Asverification,theexperimentalresultswereinagreementwiththetheoreticalresults,andconfirmthefeasibilityofthismethod.Thisnewapproachismoreexactinthepreloadrangeof10–158μmthanthatcomputedbythenumericalmethodreportedinourpreviouswork(Shanetal.,2007b).Thisimpliesthatthepresentmethodcontributestomoreeffectivelypreventingrollingnoise,overturningmomentsandwearofthewireraceballbearing.Thecurrentresearchprovidescriticaltechnicalsupportfortheengineeringapplicationofwireraceballbearingswithlargediameters.

简介:Background:Previousstudiesoffootstrikepatternsofdistancerunnersinroadraceshavetypicallyfoundthattheoverwhelmingmajorityofshodrunnersinitiallycontactthegroundontherearfoot.However,noneofthesestudieshasattemptedtoquantifyfootstrikepatternsofbarefootorminimallyshodrunners.Thisstudyclassifiesfootstrikepatternsofbarefootandminimallyshodrunnersinarecreationalroadrace.Methods:High-speedvideofootagewasobtainedof169barefootand42minimallyshoddistancerunnersatthe2011NewYorkCityBarefootRun.Footstrikepatternswereclassifiedforeachrunner,andfrequenciesofforefoot,midfoot,andrearfootstrikingwerecomparedbetweenthebarefootandminimallyshodgroups.Results:Atotalof59.2%ofbarefootrunnerswereforefootstrikers,20.1%weremidfootstrikers,and20.7%wererearfootstrikers.Forminimallyshodrunners,33.3%wereforefootstrikers,19.1%weremidfootstrikers,and47.6%wererearfootstrikers.Footstrikedistributionsforbarefootandminimallyshodrunnersweresignificantlydifferentbothfromoneanotherandfrompreviouslyreportedfootstrikedistributionsofshodroadracers.Conclusion:Footstrikepatternsdifferbetweenbarefootandminimallyshodrunners,withforefootstrikingbeingmorecommon,andrearfootstrikinglesscommoninthebarefootgroup.
简介:Background:Mathematicalmodelsproposeleglengthasalimitingfactorindeterminingthemaximumwalkingvelocity.Thisstudyevaluatedtheeffectivenessofaleglength-basedmodelinpredictingmaximumwalkingvelocityinanappliedracewalkingsituation,bycomparingexperiencedandnoviceracewalkersduringconditionswherestrictlynoflighttime(FT)waspermittedandinsimulatedcompetitionconditions(i.e.,FT〈40ms).Methods:Thirty-fourparticipants(18experiencedandl6noviceracewalkers)wererecruitedforthisinvestigation.AnOptojumpNextsystem(8m)wasusedtodeterminewalkingvelocity,stepfrequency,steplength,groundcontacttime,andFTduringracewalkingoverarangeofvelocities.ComparisonsweremadebetweennoviceandexperiencedparticipantsinpredictedmaximumvelocityandactualvelocitiesachievedwithnoflightandvelocitieswithFT〈40ms.Thetechnicaleffectivenessoftheparticipantswasassessedusingtheratioofmaximumvelocitytopredictedvelocity.Results:Innovices,nosignificantdifferencewasfoundbetweenpredictedandmaximumwalkingspeedswithoutFTbuttherewasasmall5.8%gaininmaximumspeedwhenFT≤40ms.Inexperiencedracewalkers,therewasasignificantreductioninmaximumwalkingspeedcomparedwithpredictedmaximum(p〈0.01)anda11.7%gaininmaximumwalkingspeedwithFT〈40ms.Conclusion:Leglengthwasagoodpredictorofmaximalwalkingvelocityinnovicewalkersbutnotagoodpredictorofmaximumwalkingspeedinwell-trainedwalkerswhoappeartohaveoptimisedtheirwalkingtechniquetomakeuseofnon-visibleflightperiodsoflessthan40ms.Thegaininvelocityabovepredictedmaximummaybeausefulindexofracewalkingproficiency.
