Universal single-mode lasing in fully chaotic two-dimensional microcavity lasers under continuous-wave operation with large pumping power [Invited]

摘要 Forafullychaotictwo-dimensional(2D)microcavitylaser,wepresentatheorythatguaranteesboththeexistenceofastablesingle-modelasingstateandthenonexistenceofastablemultimodelasingstate,undertheassumptionsthatthecavitysizeismuchlargerthanthewavelengthandtheexternalpumpingpowerissufficientlylarge.Itistheoreticallyshownthattheseuniversalspectralcharacteristicsarisefromthesynergisticeffectoftwodifferentkindsofnonlinearities:deformationofthecavityshapeandmodeinteractionduetoalasingmedium.OurtheoryisbasedonthelinearstabilityanalysisofstationarystatesfortheMaxwell–Blochequationsandaccountsforsingle-modelasingphenomenaobservedinrealandnumericalexperimentsoffullychaotic2Dmicrocavitylasers.
