Modified Maxwell model for predicting thermal conductivity of nanocomposites considering aggregation

摘要 Theeffectofnanoparticleaggregationonthethermalconductivityofnanocompositesornanofluidsistypicallynonnegligible.Auniversalmodel(Maxwellmodel)includingnanoparticleaggregationismodifiedinordertopredictthethermalconductivityofnanocompositesmoreaccurately.Thepredictedthermalconductivitiesofsilicaandtitaniananoparticlepowdersarecomparedfirstwiththatmeasuredbyahot-wiremethodandthenwiththoseinpreviousexperimentalworks.Theresultsshowthatthereisgoodagreementbetweenourmodelandexperiments,andthatnanoparticleaggregationinananocompositeenhancesthethermalconductivitygreatlyandshouldnotbeignored.Becauseitconsiderstheeffectofaggregation,ourmodelisexpectedtoyieldprecisepredictionsofthethermalconductivityofcomposites.
